MELAKA: Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd secured a RM12mil contract from Tenaga Cable Industries Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to supply low-voltage power cables.
Master Tec had on Oct 19 signed a long-term original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with Tenaga Cable Industries to supply three types of cables.
The one-year contract, effective in October 2022, is estimated around RM12mil.
The volume of low-voltage cables to be supplied over the next one year will depend on the demand from Tenaga Cable Industries.
“The long-term OEM Agreement is a testament to TNB’s confidence in Master Tec in supplying high-quality wires and cables for heavy industries. Our products are developed under the most stringent international standards, including the recognition by TNB via Certificate of Product Acceptance (Sijil Guna Pakai),” Master Tec sole shareholder and director Datuk Lau Kim San said.
“We are positive that this latest contract will further create opportunities for us to participate in Malaysia’s evolving power generation and distribution industry.
“In addition, given our experience in supplying necessary cables for renewable energy (RE) facilities, Master Tec is also well-positioned to capture more opportunities in the RE segment as the Malaysian Government accelerates its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050,” he added.
